Backcountry Skiing with Veterans Expeditions

March 18

We haven’t gone global…yet! Which is why we want to help spread the word about other organizations and programs (Related to travel/outdoors/recreation) that are available to service members, veterans and their families.

Depending on the conditions, this trip might head up to 10,000 feet at Camp Muir (9 miles round trip and 5,000ft of elevation gain) or stay at lower elevations and do laps in the area near Paradise. A good level of fitness is needed to successfully reach the camp. Participants will be expected to provide their own gear for this trip. This includes an alpine touring ski setup or splitboard, crampons for ski boots and/or skis, ice axe/whippet, avalanche beacon, probe, and shovel.

Requirements: Participants are required to have completed avalanche safety training (AIARE I or similar) and have prior experience backcountry touring.

*Only 1 ticket per personDO NOT sign up another individual. You must sign our waiver before attending the trip. They do not refund tickets for cancellations 2 weeks or less from the trip.

Veterans Expeditions empowers veterans to overcome challenges associated with military service through outdoor training and leadership. Their focus is to create an outdoor community that builds trust, comradeship, and support networks among veterans during trips and in their home communities. Veterans Expeditions creates opportunities for employment in the outdoor industry and related fields as well.

Please contact Veterans Expeditions for details about this event and their other opportunities.
