About Operation Reboot Outdoors

Operation Reboot OutdoorsOffers hunting and fishing trips to veterans at no cost, and with no hidden fees. They have registered Maine Guides on their team and are focused 100% on bringing the experience of our natural environment to veterans.

Ice Fishing: Operation ReBoot Outdoors spends the hardwater months (and in Maine it’s quite a long season) chasing River Wolves, aka Northern Pike, weighing upwards of 20 pounds.  The ReBoot Veteran record is 21 pounds as of our 2020 season.  Most of their ice fishing Missions are completed locally from Central to Western Maine.  Veterans, Service Members, and Law Enforcement Officers, need only show up with warm clothes and State of Maine fishing license, Operation ReBoot Outdoors can provide the rest.

Turkey Hunt: Supported by Bear Proof Outdoors, Operation ReBoot Outdoors proudly uses diaphragm, slate, and box calls made by Aaron Hodgkins, of Thorndike, Maine.  Turkey Season runs through May and into June.  Resident Veterans, LEOs, and Service Members can plan on day trips; non-residents should plan to spend a 3 to 5-day hunt.  Turkey Hunting Missions take place mainly in Central to Western Maine.  Operation ReBoot Outdoors offers participants morning hunts in ground blinds, with evenings usually spent scouting roosting locations and spot and stalks for the following day’s hunt.  Afternoons are usually spent story telling over lunch and enjoying a nice nap before the evening work.  Participants are responsible for obtaining a State of Maine Big Game Hunting License, with a special turkey permit, along with appropriate hunting attire.  A shotgun with turkey choke can be provided upon request.  Operation ReBoot Outdoors provides the professionally guided hunt, food, and lodging if needed.

Spring and Summer Fishing: Operation ReBoot Outdoors offers a variety of fishing options, mainly trolling, spin casting, and fly fishing in the Western Maine region.  A Veteran, Service Member, or LEO can simply tell our fishing staff the targeted species, and they have the experts on their team to make it happen.  They offer remote fishing, paired with camping expeditions, for participants who want to really unplug for their ReBoot.  Spring and Summer fishing Missions can be set up as day trips or multi-day trips depending on the participants’ wishes and abilities.  Veterans, Service Members, and Law Enforcement Officers, need only show up with appropriate attire and State of Maine fishing license, Operation ReBoot Outdoors can provide the rest.

Bear Hunt: They offer one-of-a-kind “Bear Cave” lodging accommodations, in bunkhouse styling. Veterans, LEOs, and Service Members are treated to professionally guided bear hunts over bait, from September through October.  They accommodate up to 8 participants per week, in 3 to 5-day hunts.  Participants traveling from out of state should plan to spend the entire week with the ReBoot team.  Local hunters typically spend three days for the hunt before they have their harvest.  They have a volunteer local caterer who cooks for and dines with the participants in family-style dining.  Participants are responsible for butchering and transporting their meat home, along with any desired taxidermy, and must have a State of Maine Big Game Hunting License.  Operation ReBoot Outdoors offers the professionally guided hunts, food and lodging.

Moose Hunt: ReBoot Moose Season is an opportunity of a lifetime due to the limited tags allotted during the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Moose Lottery each year.  Veterans, LEOs, and Service Members should reach out to Operation ReBoot Outdoors before May 15th to determine the best zones for their application process.  It is important that those who wish to participate in a Moose Hunt apply for a permit. The lottery is held each spring to determine who will receive this lifetime hunt.  If you are fortunate enough to be selected by the State of Maine, our board of directors will review each request for a ReBoot Moose Hunt on a case-by-case basis.  They offer professionally guided moose hunts, by some of the best moose guides in the United States of America. Participants must have a State of Maine Big Game Hunting License, a Moose permit from the state selection process, butchering, taxidermy and appropriate attire.  Operation ReBoot Outdoors provides food, lodging, and a guided experience of a lifetime.

Dear Hunt: Operation ReBoot Outdoors offers professionally guided deer hunts from Central to Western Maine.  Their Deer Hunting Missions are typically 5-day hunts, due to the changing wind directions throughout the week.  Veterans, LEOs, and Service Members can plan on spending the day or the entire week, based lodging needs.  Through that time, they should expect to sit in a tree stand or a ground blind for up to six hours each day.  Their registered guides can drop participants off at the hunting locations or sit with the hunter, based on preferences and requirements.   Participants are expected to apply for an any-deer permit in zone 16, and our Guides will work hard to give participants an opportunity at a doe or buck, but as with any hunting experience, a harvest is not a guarantee.  Participants are required to have a State of Maine Big Game Hunting License, weather-appropriate hunting apparel, and a firearm.  Operation ReBoot Outdoors provides the guided hunt, food, and lodging if needed.
