About Warriors and Quiet Waters

Warriors and Quiet Waters –  (Montana) Brings veterans to their ranch in southwestern Montana, for their first-time Fishing Experiences (FX). FXs are completely free to participants and include travel to Quiet Waters Ranch in Montana, as well as gifted equipment for participants to take home with them. Participants join a group of up to 6 veterans or caregivers who are ready to reflect on their service, find community in the WQW family, and discover a sense of purpose.

Their programs are progressive, encouraging participants to return to take part in alumni programs. These programs allow Warriors and caregivers to further develop their skills, invite their loved ones, and deepen their relationships with the WQW community.

Men’s Solo FX: A Solo FX brings six Warriors together for a week of camaraderie and world-class fly fishing. WQW serves Warriors who are in all stages of transition and strives to create a setting for positive growth and connection. Outcomes often include a reduction in feelings of isolation, better mental health, improved relationships, and improved fly fishing skills.

Women’s Solo FX: Like the Men’s Solo FX, the Women’s FX brings six female Warriors who are in all different states of transition as we strive to foster an environment for positive growth. Women have been an underserved population from recent conflicts and WQW hopes to address the need through these FXs.

Military Caregiver FX: The Caregiver FX is specifically for primary caregivers of post-9/11 combat veterans. WQW realized the impact our FXs have on Warriors could have an equal or greater effect on their caregivers.

Hunt for Purpose, Guiding Combat Veterans to Purpose Through Archery Elk Hunting: Their newest alumni program, Hunt for Purpose, is an intensive, 6 month pursuit to plan, prepare for, and execute a successful archery elk hunt in Montana’s backcountry. Along the way, participants will learn the basics of elk hunting and backcountry survival, improve their physical fitness, and work alongside fellow Warriors and loved ones toward a common goal.
