Wounded Warriors in Action – (Nationwide) Devotes all its energy and resources to supporting the men and women wounded in combat who were awarded the Purple Heart medal. Provides them with the opportunity to participate in 2-3 day outdoor sporting opportunities at no cost to them.
Guide School: The Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation in conjunction with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Maine’s Outdoor Learning Center proudly held the Inaugural WWIA Guide School in April/May, 2016. The WWIA Guide School is the world’s first multidisciplinary, adaptive sporting guide program for Purple Heart recipients. It is an all-expense-paid, 10-day course.
