Saddles in Service

STAY RISKY
The Saddles In Service program offers Active Duty Military, Veterans, Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers, and First Responders the unique opportunity to explore their own healing alongside a rescue horse.

About Saddles in Service

Saddles in Service (California) Provides a better life to Active Duty Military and veterans through horse rehabilitation. Veterans, Active Duty Military, First Responders, and their families that have been diagnosed with or are experiencing symptoms related to post-traumatic stress (PTSD), anxiety, depression, job-related stress, and/or traumatic brain injuries are partnered with a horse through their healing journey. In turn, we help them to rediscover their joy, hope, confidence, and purpose.

Their program is a 7 phase program individually tailored to our Heroes’ needs, competence, and availability.

  1. Horse psychology and physiology
  2. Grooming and horse care
  3. Groundwork to establish a relationship with your horse
  4. Riding in a controlled environment (round pen and arena)
  5. Trail riding
  6. Advanced cowboy skills (i.e. roping, cattle work, and challenge courses)
  7. Wyoming cowboy experience
