We may all be LiboRisks, but that doesn't mean we should vacation without safety in mind. DoD personnel undergo travel screening and prerequisites that are imperative to having a safe vacation, so here are some additional tools to ensure you have the most positive experience abroad. Wherever your travels may take you, we want you to take risks the right way without jeopardizing the safety of you or others.

First Aid: American Red Cross  – The official American Red Cross First Aid app puts expert advice for everyday emergencies in your hand. Get the app and be prepared for what life brings. With videos, interactive quizzes and simple step-by-step advice it’s never been easier to know first aid.

SAS Survival Guide – Based on the million-copy bestselling book, this fantastic free app provides you with a bare bones guide to wilderness survival. Jam-packed with basic survival tools, you’ll be equipped for any expedition to the outdoors with this entry-level guide in your arsenal.

SmartTraveler – Smart Traveler, the official State Department app for U.S. travelers, allows you to see the world with easy access to frequently updated official country information, travel alerts, travel warnings, maps, U.S. embassy locations, and more.

Cairn – An outdoors safety app that does two things. First, it crowdsources information about where you can receive mobile signal on a map (and also logs your location). Second, it allows you to leave a trip plan with your friends.
