Remedy Alpine Remedy Alpine’s mission is to empower veterans to seek personal discovery in the backcountry and experience the benefits from the individual reconciliation that comes from exploring the challenges of alpine spaces. Remedy Alpine provides half-day, full-day, and multi-day outdoor adventures for military and veterans with a simple goal: to heal the mind and spirit.

Semper Fi & America’s Fund(Operating in chapters across the United States) Semper Fi & America’s Fund cares for the nation’s critically wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and military families by providing various types of programs, including recreational sports, arts and music and equestrian therapy to participants.

Warrior Expeditions – (Operates Nationwide) Offers long distance expedition programs for combat veterans. They provide veterans with everything required to complete a long-distance outdoor expedition at no cost to the veteran. Veterans receive the equipment, clothing and supplies required to complete an expedition in addition to coordinating support in the forms of transportation, lodging and food from community supporters located along the trail.

Guardian Revival – (New York) Offers veterans and first responders cost-free programs focused on outdoor adventure activities, music and even a canine program to provide companion and service dogs.

US Veterans Foundation – (Based in Illinois, with operating chapters across the United States) US Veterans Foundation is an organization focused on establishing a community presence through service-oriented programs that benefit the military community as well as general communities as a whole. USVF strives to ensure that our Veterans are mentally fit and equipped with all the tools required to make them very productive members of our communities and great community leaders. Their main programs focus on jiujitsu and outdoors activities such as hunting and fishing.

American Heroes in Action – (Based in Colorado, operating chapters across the United States) American Heroes In Action provides therapeutic outdoor adventures to American heroes including combat wounded veterans, injured firefighters, injured members of law enforcement and other first responders. Our outdoor adventures include, but are not limited to; fishing trips, hunting trips, jeep trail rides, hiking, boating, and more.

Camp South Ground Warrior’s Week – (Georgia) Warrior Week is a signature 12-month transition and wellbeing program that reminds veterans of who and what they are once they’ve hung up their uniform. The goal of Warrior Week, which starts with a high-touch week at Camp Southern Ground, is to provide each individual with the tools and training to thrive at home by helping veterans identify their unique strengths and develop an action plan for moving forward with purpose.

American Warrior’s Association – (Georgie, Colorado) The AWA provides week-long Men’s and Women’s Programs in Colorado and Georgia for military, veterans and first responders. These mountain retreats provide an opportunity for our nation’s warriors to confront and heal moral injuries.

Save the Brave – (California, Texas) Save the Brave Offshore provides offshore angling opportunities and a jiujitsu scholarship program for veterans at no cost. Their programs are centered around the Save The Brave philosophy that there is no pill, prescription, and no vaccination that can cure the effects of PTS better than connecting with fellow Veterans through shared experiences.

Warriors For Freedom – (Oklahoma) Is focused on reducing military suicide by providing outdoor experiences and programs. Their programs include scuba diving training, education and certification, hunting and fishing trips, camping and golfing.

DREAM Adaptive Recreation – (Montana) DREAM provides year-round programs that focus on leveraging each veteran’s abilities: Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding at Whitefish Mountain Resort, Nordic Skiing at Whitefish Lake Golf Course, Biking on various trails and pathways in the Flathead Valley, Paddle Sports and Motorized Water Sports on Echo Lake and Whitefish Lake.

Waypoint Vets – (Operating retreats in various states) Offers veteran retreats where participants engage in a variety of unique activities and challenges during the day, and evenings are spent reflecting and enjoying camaraderie. Activities include kayaking, hiking, mountaineering, and climbing.

Warfighter Outfitters and Veterans Back 40 Adventure – (Oregon) Warfighter Outfitters (WFO) and Veterans Back 40 Adventure (VB40) exist to provide a supportive and healthy outlet for Veterans seeking to reconnect with the camaraderie found in military service.  This is done through outdoor fishing and hunting trips, campouts, and motorcycle adventures.

Landing Zone Grace – (Virginia) The goal of this family farm is to provide a sanctuary of rest, renewal and hope to Special Operations Forces (from all branches of the military) transitioning from combat to life at home, as well as Tier One First Responders (firefighters and law enforcement). Participants spend time with horses and companion dogs, tending to home-grown gardens and farmland, fishing, kayaking, reading, playing hard or just resting – the need to isolate may lesson, the stress will dissipate and a solid new beginning will be found through and with each other

Open Doors Outdoors – (Operating chapters throughout the country) Serves Veterans, their families and young people by taking them into the outdoors for reconnection, healthy activity and healing. ODO’s participants can experience a variety of outdoor outings such as: hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, rucking, trail running racing as well as UTV adventures. Through these organized activities, participants gain physiological and psychological benefits.

American Warrior Association – (Colorad0, Georgia, California) Provides week-long Men’s, Women’s, Family and Marriage programs in Northwestern Colorado for military, veterans and first responders. These mountain retreats provide an opportunity for  warriors to confront and heal moral injuries.

Mental Restorations Foundation – (Hawaii) Mental Restorations Foundation is a non-profit organization created to promote community mental health. They are dedicated to helping active duty and retired Veterans & families of, active duty and retired First Responders and family of, and at risk youth, to find a path to better mental wellness.

Team Red White and Blue – (Based in Georgia, Operates Nationwide) Hosts physical activities and social events for veterans.

Beyond Boundaries – (Virginia) Beyond Boundaries is a non-profit based in Richmond, Virginia specializing in guiding participants with disabilities, veterans, at risk youth, and recovery programs on outdoor adventures.

Alaska Adventure Project – (Alaska) Hosts an annual trip to Ketchikan, Alaska for as many veterans as they can support. Alaska Adventure Project works to raise funds to fully cover all costs for each of the guests so they can participate in fishing, hunting, camping, hiking and kayaking in the beautiful wilderness of Alaska.

Wishes for Warriors – (Based in Idaho, Operates Nationwide) Is a veteran run, volunteer operated non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to returning hope and passion back into the lives of combat wounded heroes, through therapeutic outdoor adventures, awareness, education and passion, after experiencing a life altering injury.

Irreverent Warriors – (Operates Nationwide) Brings service members and veterans together through the use of humor and comradery. Annually, Irreverent Warriors hosts Silkies Hikes across the country, bringing anywhere from 400 to 800 participants.

Veteran Sportsman Alliance – (California, Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, Tennessee) The primary mission of VSA is to get injured and disabled Veterans out of the house and hospital, and into the therapeutic surroundings of nature and outdoor adventure. VSA has sponsored deer and hog hunts, as well as tuna, bass, and salmon fishing trips. VSA is currently organizing kayaking, hiking, and golf trips as well.

Camp Bliss – (Minnesota) Camp Bliss, year-round wheelchair accessible retreat and vacation destination nestled on 48-acres of stately pines and hardwood forest on Long Lake. They offer retreats for Veterans with PTSD, Veterans and Spouses, Veterans and Children, Vietnam Veterans R&Rs, Female Veterans, Marines Fishing Getaways, and more.

Camp Hero Kentucky – (Kentucky) Provides 3-4 day getaways for wounded veterans and first responders, to allow them to be able to enjoy the tranquility of the Appalachian Mountain outdoors, while being able to talk and fellowship with other wounded heroes.  All lodging and food is provided from the non-profit, through donations.

Hometown Hero Outdoors – (Based in Minnesota, Operates Nationwide) Offers outdoor and recreational opportunities to veterans and their families.

Cover 6 Outdoors – (Texas) Offers activities free of charge to Veterans and their dependents in order to give them a chance to break free from the stress and anxiety caused by PTSD, TBI, marital issues and numerous other life challenges that come with reintegration.

23rd Veteran – (Minnesota) Helps service members and veterans who are living with trauma by offering a unique 14-week mental health program has freed veterans from a life of isolation, anxiety, panic, and depression.

Eagle Rock Camp – (North Carolina) Eagle Rock Camp, through faith in action, brings military families together to heal and reconnect through retreats and specific programs that include activities such as archery, fishing, hiking, kayaking, dancing, journaling, art and alternative therapies.

Pennsylvania Outdoor Veterans – (Pennsylvania) Offers outdoor activities for veterans such as hiking, camping, hunting and fishing.

A Soldier’s Heart – (Based in Kentucky, operates nationwide) ASH offers a variety of small group retreats throughout the year with durations as short as 1 day & and as long as 11 days. Some retreats offered are local to Western KY, while others take place state & nationwide. These retreats are designed to help veterans engage with like-minded individuals who share similar struggles.

Warrior Connection – (Texas) Provides residential retreats and services to Veterans and their families to heal the invisible injuries incurred while in uniform.

Freedom Fighters Outdoors – (Florida) Raises awareness and seeks public aid for needs, services and activities for injured veterans. Their events facilitate injured veterans in assisting each other through teamwork based outdoor recreational activities by providing unique, once in a lifetime outdoor activities.

Special Liberty Project – (North Carolina) Serves the entire Veteran family: Healing Veterans, Gold Star Spouses, and Gold Star Kids. This includes family survivors of active-duty and Veteran suicides, who are welcomed and embraced just like all traditional Gold Star Families.

Mission 43 – (Idaho) – Offers meaningful events and opportunities designed for you to stay active and connected with the Mission43 community. Everyone is welcome, including our civilian supporter and first responder members.

The Warrior’s Keep – (Texas) Provides free outdoor expeditions where Veterans can experience the challenge and reward of participating in expeditions with a team of fellow veterans. These expeditions are designed to build camaraderie, establish sense of purpose and increase quality of life. Through Veteran-led small group discussions, Veterans are educated on the difficulties of societal reintegration, military transition and other important topics. Veteran must apply and be selected by a committee to participate in this program, due to limited space.

Soldiers Freedom Outdoors – (Florida) Offers retreats and recreational therapy activities to veterans. Our retreats provide eco-therapy (healing through nature).

Pineland Farms (Maine) The goal of our VAST program is to promote lifelong health and well-being of veterans with disabilities through regular participation in a VAST array of physical activities and sports. Any and all veterans are encouraged to volunteer and enjoy some outdoor activities and a sense of camaraderie with fellow veterans.

Veterans Expeditions – (Colorado) Connects all veterans through events and networking opportunities during trips and in their home communities. They create opportunities for employment in the outdoor industry and related fields.

No Barriers Warriors – (Colorado, North Carolina) Is a non-profit organization with a veteran program that hosts adventure-based trips for veterans with any VA disability rating. Their Basecamp Expeditions take place at the No Barriers Mountain Campus in the northern Rocky Mountains. They are designed to serve a wider spectrum of Veterans with varying levels of injury and ability and feature whitewater rafting, rock climbing and hiking.  Their Backcountry Expeditions are the most challenging and are typically backpacking trips in the high country, multi-day river trips, or attempts to summit some of America’s premiere peaks.

The Heroes Projects – (Based in California, Operates Nationwide) Creates training and expedition events for to provide therapeutic, challenging and transformative experiences. Veterans who have incurred a traumatic mental or physical injury are eligible.

Abled Veterans Outdoors – (Florida) Focuses on empowering Veterans with life skills and opportunities to connect with the community by hosting retreats and volunteer opportunities. They include activities such as fishing, Muay Thai, painting and more.

Outward Bound – (Based in New York, Operates Nationwide) Offers a veteran program that invites service members and veterans take part in wilderness expeditions. Their courses are open to active duty servicemen and servicewomen and veterans of all conflicts who have deployed as a part of their service.

Veterans Adventure Group (Based in Tennessee, Operates Nationwide) Offers events and activities for veterans who seek adventure and thrill. Veteran guides lead a majority of the events across the nation and include mountaineering, rock climbing, snowboarding and much more. They encourage peer to peer networking through extreme sports and veterans adventure therapy.

High Ground USA – (Idaho, Colorado) Offers Recreational therapy programs for disabled veterans that also includes week-long and single-day recreational events for disabled veterans who experienced symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Trauma, and/or Polytrauma.

Alaska Healing Hearts – (Alaska) Offers outdoor activities for wounded warriors such as fishing, hunting, skiing, rodeo, dog sledding tours and various other outdoor pursuits for wounded warriors and their families.

Camp Patriot – (Montana) Offers numerous outdoor activities and programs for wounded/disabled vets, such as fishing, hiking, motor sports, skiing and hunting.

Disabled Veterans Outdoor – (Ohio) Offers a disabled veteran outdoor program.

Operation Comfort – (Texas) Provides adaptive sports programs for wounded, ill injured troops and veterans.

Friends of Disabled Veterans – (Washington) Provides activities and programs for disabled vets and their families.

Wisconsin Hero Outdoors Fund – (Wisconsin) Offers outdoor programs for vets and Gold Star Families.

Mighty Oaks Warrior Foundation – (Based in Texas, Operates Nationwide) Offers free Programs, meetings, activities for veterans with intensive peer-based discipleship through a series of programs, outpost meetings, and speaking events. Mighty Oaks Warrior Programs hosts Men, Women, and Marriage Advance Programs at multiple locations nationwide. Those who attend are fully sponsored for training, meals, and lodging.

Adaptive Adventure Military Operations – (Operates Nationwide) Offers programs for injured veterans and active duty troops. Adaptive Adventures travels the country with 15 trailers filled with adaptive equipment providing programs to under-served areas of the country. Adaptive Adventures provides programs in 30 states, collaborating with over 150 community partners across the country including; rehab hospitals, park districts, VA medical centers, military hospitals, veteran service organizations, and other adaptive sport programs.

Vail Veterans Program – (Colorado) Offers outdoor programs for severely injured troops that range from summer and winter therapeutic recreational programming, caregiver-specific wellness events, and empowerment training. Vail Veterans Program participants include United States military personnel who have been severely injured while serving our country. Most veterans who participate in our programs come directly from: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD; Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, and the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. Vail Veterans Program events are provided to military injured and their families entirely free of charge.

Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports – (Colorado) Offers outdoor programs for injured vets and their families. STARS offers daily programs throughout the winter season and weekly programs and camps during the summer in alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, archery, cycling, hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, mountain biking, paddle sports, water Skiing, and more. Adaptive equipment is supplied by STARS. Rentals of summer adaptive equipment is also available.

Gathering of Mountain Eagles – (Based in South Carolina, Operates Nationwide) Offers adventure activities for injured troops and their spouses primarily within the states of West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Continue Mission – (Utah) Offers outdoor events for service-connected ailments.

Big Fish Foundation – (Colorado) Offers outdoor events for veterans. Majority of events are free and include activities such as yoga, surfing, sky diving, volunteering, physical workouts and more.

Warrior Bonfire Program – (Operates Nationwide) Offers Purple Heart recipient programs with multi-day retreats that incorporate recreational and group therapies. Activities include, but not limited to, hunting, fishing, skiing, surfing, horseback riding, caving, whitewater rafting, and hiking.

Operation: Tohidu – (Maryland) Offers Five day Retreat for those with service-related trauma retreat held at Melwood’s 108-acre Retreat and Recreation Center in Nanjemoy, Maryland. Participants use ropes courses, zip lines, kayaks, equine therapy and other adventurous activities to augment educational sessions, periods of introspection and reflection, group discussions and spiritual reinforcement throughout the retreat. ​

The Big Red Barn Retreat – (South Carolina) Utilizes 75 acres of land to provide veterans, active duty and their families activities and programs that assist them in overcoming stressors caused by their duties.

Expedition Balance – (Texas) Offers activities for all veterans offering regularly-scheduled yoga classes, as well as special events such as: hiking, paddling, community volunteer projects, and workshops in nutrition, cooking, creative expression, and other activities to all veterans.

AdventureVet – (Utah) Offers Outdoor adventures for wounded and amputee combat veterans such as Motorcycle & Recreational Therapy, Vocational Training and additional life changing, life saving holistic wellness programs.

HAVE-Alaska – (Alaska) Offers outdoor activities for veterans.

Achieve Tahoe – (California) Offers Activities for veterans with permanent disabilities and their families. They offer 50% off their activities and have additional scholarships to cover the full cost of activities if needed. They also host annual Military Winter and Summer Sports Camps that provide lodging meals and activities for free.

Wounded Warriors in Action – (Based in Florida, Operates Nationwide) Offers outdoor sporting activities for Purple Heart Recipients.

House in the Woods Veterans – (Based in Maine, Operates Nationwide) Offers outdoor activities for veterans and troops with retreats for active duty military, veterans, and their family members, in the great wilderness of Maine. Activities include hunting, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, nature tours, campfires, swimming, and wildlife identification and spotting.

New England Adventures, INC – (New England) Offers free sporting events for New England veterans.

Service Members Undertaking Disabled Sports  – (Based in Texas, Operates Nationwide) A multi-sport program that provides access to outdoor adventure sports to wounded, injured and ill veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Team Overland – (PNW) Offers outdoor adventures for veterans. They are based in the Pacific Northwest and guided outdoor adventures as an outlet for Veterans to overcome challenges associated with service-related physical and mental health disabilities, and to facilitate Veteran reintegration back into civilian society.

Huts for Vets – (Colorado) Offers wilderness-based programs for veterans and incorporates rigorous hikes through beautiful mountain scenery and moderated discussions from a notebook of assigned readings. Transportation, food and lodging are covered. All veterans are eligible.

PB Abbate – (Based in Montana, Operates Nationwide) Offers free retreats at their Montana-based cabin and events hosted nationwide by local chapters that include activities such as hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and more.

Triple B Adventures – (California) Offers “Campfire Therapy” retreats that include hiking, fishing, camping, and excursions for service members and veterans.
